Local collage artist, Lorelle Rau and I partnered to merge our mediums of cut paper and my poetry to create an entry for a local art competition. We used collage and poetry to create a narrative surrounding the feelings of isolation and resilience. The artwork uses flora silhouettes and an antiqued color palette to signify the passage of seasons and time. It uses pieces of unedited and raw poetry as an insight into our minds and those in our community.
The project began as a way to create a collection of works documenting life during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are honored to be included in the COVID Community Collection of the Boise City Department of Arts and History.
